Wolverine Finds a New Face in Liam McIntyre

Australian actor Liam McIntyre is officially playing Wolverine in new video game by Insomniac games. Wolverine was my favorite X-Men as a kid and still is. So the fact that the game is still in the works, and we finally gave us a gameplay trailer My hope reignited!! And, Wolverine in the yellow suit riding a motorcycle I’m sold!

Glad Insomniac and Marvel had the courage to make this as mature of a game as it needs to be for Wolverine. Now all that’s left is Marvel’s Hulk, because then we’ll have the big 3 of Marvel Comics in the hands of Insomniac. It’s hard to tell because of all the movement, but it seems like they actually made Wolverine pretty short! At least shorter than most of the enemies, maybe not as short as in the comics. But hey, I’ll take it!

Marvel’s Wolverine Game: Liam McIntyre Takes the Role

FYI, the voice actor is Liam McIntyre. He was in the Spartacus series, and also Taron Malicos in Jedi Fallen Order. I love how Liam seems genuinely excited about this game and role. It gives me that he is passionate about the game and role, so we get the perfect game. I’m a little disappointed it’s not Steve Blum as Wolverine, but I can understand wanting someone with both the acting chops and physicality for the motion capture.

The internal monologue is peak Wolverine. Insomniac really knows how to take it. I’m so happy that insomniacs got past all of those problems they had to face and can now finally get back to their passion. Insomniac is one of the best gaming studios. To put out Spider-Man 1, 2, Miles Morales, Wolverine a complete fun, fun game in 8 years is legendary and, honestly, other studios and devs need to step up.

What “Insomniac Games” gets right is that their worlds and systems feel designed around that character, not just a character plopped into a generic world. I’m just really excited about what other Wolverine or X-Men characters they might introduce into this universe.
